Sean McNees

Until we say no to the drug / alcohol industry ourselves and face the truth, we must be held responsible and accountable for the tragedies that our children are facing as Sean. They live what they learn!

FACT: Over 10 million people under the age of 21 have consumed alcohol in the last month (source: MADD)

FACT: Over 17 thousand people have been killed in alcohol related crashes in Illinois. We need mandatory jail time -- help us change this!! We need rehabilitation and education on marketing -- this is why we are here.

FACT: Last year, over 400 children were killed from alcohol related crashes in Illinois.

Be the solution! Say no to the alcohol drug dealers today!

16 years old and now a criminal felon. DUI driver takes the life of his friend Stacey Blundell, 17, and destroys the family's lives forever.

Sean McNee's story is unfortunately an old one in terms that it is repeated over and over again in our society daily monthly, yeraly.

It is a tale of anguish

Sean McNees in 2001 on December 21", four days before the celebration of Christmas was responsible for an alcohol related crash which resulted in the death of 17 years old Stacey Blundel, his passenger.

As detailed in the article below, Sean admitted to being under the influence of not noly alcohol but marijuana at the time of the crash.

How old was Sean at the time of the crash?? 17 years old.

He was sentenced to 9 months in jail and 4 year probation primarily through teh grace of Miss. Blundel's parents who felt that Sean showed adequate remorse for the crash.

Was it true remorse or just a kid who was afraid of being caught? Had he learned his lesson? Would he adhere to his probationary conditions?

Would he become a spokeman for not driving under the influence???

I said it was a tale of anguish

To Miss. Blundel's parents horror, Sean has been in trouble since the crash, under his probation he was not supposed to drive, since his license was revoked, or drink alcohol. He violated his probation twice and one of those violations included a stop by police where he produced phony identification, he also had some alleged substance in the car and open alcohol. It is now 4 years later and Sean is now 20.

This of course devastated Miss Blundel's parents. Their grace misused.

Who is to blame. Sean is an active participant in his blame. But it is also those of us who knew him or knew of him. His parents, his friends, his enemies, his aunts, uncles anyone who knew him.

Citizen's Outcry believes strongly that it is also the conditioning, the legalized marketing, to this programmed young man by the liquor industry througn nonstop advertising. How many times do you think Sean passed through, as a small child the liquor section of Costco, Trader Joe's, Osco, Last Fling, Cost Plus, Sam's Club and other stores not mentioned here. How many billboards, Sports games, Magazines or News papers had he seen.

The truth: We all know Sean, he is the one who believes that the liquor ads are talking to him, he is the one who laughs at the commercials that poke fun at jocks and air-headed women who flaunt, giggle and parade by in magazine ads. billboards, movies, Tv shows and commercials. Shows on cable that tell us that the only way a mother can support her children is through selling marijuzna to her neighbors (a comedy). We are told to just turn off what we do not like but the truth is we don't or if we do, our children don't.

Sean learned his teachings well, and now he will probably pay a terrible price for his attention to an industry that does not come to the defnese of it's pupils. Maybe that's a solution, make the liquor companies and their cohorts pay for the defense of every one of their pupils and a stipend to every one of their victims.

They would go broke because it is an epidemic. It is Citizen's Outcry's goal to stop the carnage. Stop the pain to parents and loved ones.

Together we can help prevent tragedies like Sean by joining forces.

It is a tale of anguish that can be prevented an epidemic that needs your attention.

What was never out of his face? (Bud Lite, Grab A Miller, semi trucks, Grocery Stores, Trader Joe's, Whole Foods, movies, Binny's Liquors, and countless others) Isn't it time to wake up to the billion dollar advertising that is brain washing everyone into destroying our lives and our health by fighting back. Isn't it time for parents to face their responsibility as role models and say No first and foremost, write letters to the President to protect the Nation and protest the number one child killer drug. Sign Pledges and join us in our campaign to say no to alcohol, tobacco and the greed of the politicians.
